Sam is studying law at Auckland University, and in his spare time he is employed by the Auckland Students' Union, a member of the Goldwater Trust and teaches matters of Judaica to children at Kadimah School and privately. He is a former Bnei Akiva madrich and also a champion debater.

As well as being involved in Lunch & Learn, Sam is running a debate session in the children's programme and is facilitating discussion on the short film "Take Note" with Lawrence Nathan.
