It is widely known that Gene Simmons of (rock band) Kiss was born in Haifa in 1949. But the rest of Israel's pop/rock history is less well known. Explore the evolution, diversity and culture of popular Israeli music over the last 64 years. A range of pop sub-genres will be examined looking at lyrics, instruments, tzahal, politics, music videos, history, audiences, identity and performers. (TN)
