Visioning the Divine

This session will explore how Man visions the Divine in text, symbols, architecture and art. It will focus on the marked difference in Jewish and Christian tradition, the concepts of representation and idolatry, and the evolution from animism to polytheism to anthropomorphic to monotheistic to abstract visions of the Divine. The lecture will have extensive image content.
