During the 1990s one million immigrants arrived in Israel, a quarter to one third of whom are not halachically Jewish. Emma will be speaking about the Israeli Army's unique course enabling soldiers to convert to Judaism during their army service. We will discuss different issues surrounding the army conversion and why it is so controversial in Israel today. (TN)
