In this cyber age we are living in everyone downloads material from the Internet, borrows CDs and uses the software on their own computer. Is this OK from a Jewish perspective? Can you borrow a “secret” family recipe and then pass it on to third person? If you are entrusted with special technical knowledge from a friend can you use it for yourself and even share it with third person?

We will be looking at the concept of intellectual property in Jewish law through scenarios and sources and try to find out: Are we all criminals?
